The importance of investing in a good camera.

As time goes by, it becomes obvious that I can not carry on taking pictures for Retrofanattic with my little compact camera. It is a good camera, but I am not fully satisfied with the reproduction of colours, especially orange. Orange being my favourite colour, many items I sell with Retrofanattic are orange, or contain some orange.

So I have decided to invest in a better camera. It doesn't need to be expensive, and it won't be, but I have spent quite a lot of time reading technical tests to find a camera with an excellent reproduction of colours, indors or outdoors, which is the most important criteria for me, and at last I have found what I was looking for.

Oops, sorry, I have used the wrong picture !  ;-)
This is not the camera I am going to buy, although I would love to take pictures of my items with a vintage camera, but this is one of the cameras for sale in my Etsy shop

Showing the best pictures of my items is very important to me. Not only concerning the reproduction of colours, but also concerning small details that customers, or visitors, would like to see. It is essential that the camera you are going to choose can take excellent close ups. The one I have chosen can be used for objects as close as one centimetre !

As soon as I have got it, I will take two pictures of the same object (probably an orange object) : one picture with the old camera, and the second one with the new camera, and I will update this article to show you the result.

See you later, then !  :-)

Here I am ! Back on this article ! I have bought my new camera, and I am very happy with the result.

This water jug has been photographed with both cameras, at the same moment, with exactly the same conditions of light : on a table, in front of the window, with a bright daylight. According to you, which camera is the new one ?
